2018-05-15 Kings Pool day 3

Sunrise is no less beautiful than sunset.

In the sunlight we saw this vulture sitting on a dead tree.

It was not the only one, we saw a whole group, so we thought there must be something more, attracting some many vultures.

We saw this water antelope starring fix in one direction …

… whereas the others of the group continued to feed.

The reason for all this was the presence of this big male lion in the vicinity.

First he was walking on a small path on the river bank, but then he decided to take a rest, the prefect opportunity for us to take some more pictures.

Soon after we had left the lion we saw this small Malachite Kingfisher sitting on seagrass. What a tiny and colourful bird.

You can’t miss any Ibis, they make so much noise when a vehicle approaches.

A hamerkop.

Back at the camp we met again “our” lizard and saw this yawning hippo close to our cabin in the river.

We then had to pack our bags and get ready for our transfer to the last camp of this trip. We will be leaving Botswana with a lot of unforgettable memories, tons of images and very happy, that we were able to see so many animals, not to forget the hospitality we enjoyed in every camp, from all the guides and other staff.

I’m ashamed to confess that from the most beautiful camp we visited during this trip the only photo I took from the camp itself is the entrance door of our cabin.
